Dane Bowman d/b/a TrailBrief ("TrailBrief," "we") provides fixed-price competitor and market research. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
Only what you give us: your name, email, company, and project details when you email us, book a call, submit a form, or pay. Payments are processed by our payment provider (e.g., Stripe). We never see or store full card numbers. If you use a booking tool we link to, that provider's privacy policy also applies.
How we use it
To scope and deliver your report, communicate with you, and keep business and tax records. We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
AI tools and TrailMaster
Reports are drafted by AI research assistants using TrailMaster, our proprietary toolkit for AI agents. Those assistants may run on third-party AI providers. Mostly they work with public information about the companies you ask us to research. Project details you share (for example, which competitors and what decision you're making) may go to these tools, but only as much as your project needs. We don't knowingly put your confidential materials into AI services that use customer data to train public models. Every claim is source-linked, and Dane Bowman approves every report and checks the key and flagged claims before delivery.
Confidentiality
Client materials and reports are kept confidential and are never reused in other clients' work or in our marketing. Published sample reports are written for fictional clients using public information.
Retention
We keep project records as long as needed to support your follow-up questions and to meet tax and record-keeping obligations, then delete what we no longer need.
